Privacy policy

What we collect

Your name, email address, phone number, city and driving licence number when you create an account; your booking dates, car, pick-up and drop-off points; and the notes you send us. At handover we check your original licence and photo ID and record the document numbers on the rental agreement.

Payment information

Card numbers, UPI PINs and net banking credentials never reach this website. Payments are handled on Razorpay's own secure checkout. We store only what Razorpay returns to us: the payment reference, the amount, the method and the status, which is what lets us issue refunds and show you a receipt.

Why we hold it

To take and manage your booking, to hand over the car legally, to issue invoices and refunds, to contact you about a rental in progress, and to meet the record keeping the law requires of a rental operator.

Who we share it with

Razorpay for payments, our email provider for booking mail, and the police or transport authorities where the law obliges us — for example when a challan is issued against a car during your rental. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cookies

One session cookie keeps you signed in. Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your own browser's local storage and is never sent to us. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

How long we keep it

Booking and invoice records are kept as long as tax and transport rules require. You can ask us to delete your account and personal details at any point beyond that.

Your choices

Write to bookings@gocarrent.in to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. You can also edit your name, phone, address and licence number yourself under My bookings.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and can never be read back, not even by us. Verification codes are hashed the same way, expire quickly and can only be used once. The site is served over HTTPS.
